Chris King bottom brackets any good?
I am replacing my Tigra groupset with Sram Rival. I am considering putting on a CK bottom bracket as I have heard good things about their products and now would be a good time to buy a BB. Does anyone have any experience with Chris King bottom brackets?

I have put in a few.
My opinion is they are great, just don't look at the price. They have a 5 yr warranty too. So, it will probably out last your frame, LOL. I'm a little hard on BB as I see a puddle and water as a way to clean to bottom of the bike.
Make sure you get the 2010 SRAM version!!! CK found a way to not need any spacers to get the ideal chain line
Oh, so to answer you question, Are the any good? No, they are any GREAT!
It's a fire road.............
I'm on a road bike..........
They have enough in common to blast down it.

Have they elminated the shim yet? I have heard of people having creaking issues with them due to the shim that you have to use withe SRAM setup.

Their website says they have a SRAM specific BB now. It seems to be fairly new.

The key to making these last is servicing. If you are going to pick up a CK BB, get the tool to grease it as well.
You can't fix stupid.

the shim is necessary for the gxp type crank. it is a slip fit so grease it liberally to prevent creaking. if they went to something press fit it might work better.

Buying the BB is fine but skip the tool. The shop you get the BB from will have it and can service the BB over its life for less than the tool and necessary grease injector.
