    Di2 + Switching Garmin Sceens

So I have a Di2 Hydraulic disc break bike with ultregra front and rear DRs. Are the 9170 shifters the only way to get remote switching of the Garmin Screens without using the garmin remote wireless strap on button thing? Can't reprogram climbing or sprint switches to do this?

AFAIK you can program the Garmin to change screens on any Di2 button command.

My R785 shifters don't have spare buttons...but after the feature was added to my Edge 1K, it asked me if I wanted to set it up the second my Di2 was paired.

After doing some reading, it looks like the sprinter switch wont' work wiht the R785 shifters (which I have) so I guess I'm stuck unless I upgrade to something with the hidden buttons.

R785 only have a single E-Tube port each...to use the sprinter switch you'd need either: a 5-port Junction A, or I suppose you could also the spare port on a wireless module if it was up front.

Of course...between the cost of that extra shifter, the E-Tube cable for it, and the 5-port Junction A....you just spent 3X what the Garmin stand alone strap-on widget cost.

True, and I already have the garmin widget - it's just a little awkward due to it's size. I did some more reading and it looks like the sprinter switch has a tab on it though so it isn't supposed to go in a regular round port.

The new r8070 Ultegra levers can do it and they're slick as.

Not sure on their price. Really nice shape and feel.

$340 for caliper brakes on ColoradoCyclist...

Or the brifter/disc-caliper combo for $760

Who know if or when the disc-brake shifters will be sold stand alone. AFAIK they're always sold with the disc-calipers.

Problem in the OP's case being who knows how long intergenerational 11s frankenbike Di2 with will be allowed in firmware

Exactly what I need, thanks! Now I just need to wait for them to be available - they are on the list for Christmas
