Difference in F&R Avid Shorty 6 brakes

Apart from a different orientation of the brakepads, is there any difference between the Front and Rear Avid Shorty 6 Canti brakes? Some places charge more for the rear. Can't see why.

No differences that I've seen or am aware of....but don't quote me on that.

I've got a set of Shorty 6's and also a set of Shorty 4's on my wifes cross bike. I'm always messing with brakes pulling them off and trying other setups. I know I've had the avids on and off a number of times and haven't noticed any difference between front and rear, and havn't paid any attention to what was front or rear when reinstalling.

I haven't noticed any issues after reinstalling.

just got a pair of nashbar knock-offs. had to order both front and rear. the only difference was the rear brake box had been opened and the pads switched. made me laugh. the boxes werent marked front/rear either.
$17 each. what a bargain. a bargain for me.

    Really? Weird.

    I'm pretty sure there's not.
