    Jockey Pulleys

Are the Dura Ace 7900 jockey pulleys compatible on my Dura Ace 7700 9 speed? I'm using the 10 speed chain so I believe that they are.

The chain has nothing to do with it as all chains are spaced the same.

The compatibility has to do with the float of the upper pulley. I'm pretty sure Shimano was consistent between 7700, 7800 and 7900 with that but not sure. 11 speed does not have that float shimano used for 10 speed to definitely don't get those.
Just check your top pulley to see if it floats.

You also need to look at the rear derailleur cage spacing, where the jockey wheels live. Although chain pitch (distance between links) is the same for all speeds, chain width is different, and this drives jockey wheel cage spacing. And so jockey wheel width, as it will be dictated by cage spacing.
