I have a brand new set of Look Keo Blades (non-TI) and a new set of Look Grey cleats. On the first run with these cleats I have an odd clunk/popping/clicking sound coming from both pedals.
I removed them, re-greased them, and re-installed them, but am having the same issues. The cleats are new, and I tried the red with grip cleats and the grey with the smooth surface. Same noise.
This is not the same noise as the squeaky cleats. I have experienced that before and it is not what is happening here. It seems to be coming from the engagement area, and feels like there is some play between the pedal body and the cleat.
They also do not seem to fall correctly when not in use. They seem to "hang" in whatever position they were left.
Any ideas? I tried moving my Keo 2 Max pedals back over to the bike and the noise was gone, so it is definitely the pedals.
