Ultegra 6500 crankset (Octalink). I’ve been having issues with the NDS bolt backing out as I ride. I’ve retightened and torqued to spec many times. Also, it’s done this with two different bottom brackets. Any suggestions on what to do next?
^This^. If it won't stay tight it's done. Replace it. It was most likely installed by someone that didn't know how to do it by feel properly and was too lazy to remove the cap and confirm it visually.
Most likely. It should be really easy to see the damage to the splines. If it is not damaged, then thread locker might be the answer, though it shouldn't have to be the answer.
Like the one that whoever builds hubs/freehubs for Vision uses? The stupid ass freehub that is failing on probably half of the OEM Metron 40 LTD wheels that requires a torch and a 12mm allen? That threadlock?
Thanks for all the replies. Looks like I’ll throw some thread lock on there and start looking for a replacement crankset
