Octalink V1 bottom bracket and cranks installed.. but no bolt to hold the on..

    Hi guys,

I installed Shimano Octalink V1 bottom bracket, then went to attached the arm and realised that I have no bolt to keep the crank arms from falling off.

Can anybody tell me what bolt these used and where I can order them online?

    Many thanks for you advice.

    What model crank?

    Most come with bolts.
    Many come with self extractors.

Buying parts to hang on your bike is always easier than getting fit.

If you know the model of crank, here is a possible source: Loose Screws Bicycle Small Parts Bicycle Parts for the Home Mechanic or go to your LBS and ask them if they have a pair in their "old parts bin." Shimano hasn't made these in a LONG time.

They are powercranks so they are pretty niche.

I can see the Octalink V1 spindle has threads inside it. So there must be some bolt designed for the job.

As the Grumpy one said, most all crankarms come with the necessary bolts and most also come with self extractors.

These are very common, I don't believe they are peculiar to Powrcrank and I would think any LBS would have a pair in stock.

I you must buy online, here are some on eBay:

No need for the old parts bin to get those bolts. Shimano still sells Octalink cranks and bottom brackets, so the bolts (as said by others) are widely available.
