old look cleats - what is replacement

I have old look and shimano pedals which used the then standard look cleats. Vintage is pre 1990.

I see "look keo " or "look keo exustar" being advertised. Are these compatible? I've been out of the sport for some time, so I'm not familiar with current pedal systems. Double checking because I found out that the spd-sl cleat is not compatible despite the resemblance.

No, they're not. Google "Look Delta". The red ones have some float and are preferred by most riders who still use these models.

Manly men use the black Delta cleats.

I've got Look Deltas on all my road bikes.

LOOK Delta Black Arc Cleats -

LOOK Delta Red Arc Cleats -

Buying parts to hang on your bike is always easier than getting fit.

Macho man here. I learned to set my cleats on rattraps and toe clips.

I prefer the red Delta. Nashbar recently started selling knock offs for about half the price. They work well, but are a bit tighter when clipping in or out.

Me, too, but my knees were happy when the red cleats came along.
