I'm looking at a frame. On the manufacturers site the bottom bracket standard is called pressfit. The bike is also sold complete with a "Shimano Ultegra FC-6750 Hollowtech II Compact 50x34T, Press-fit BB".
At first I thought we were talking about the sram pressfit 30 standard but a quick look at google lead me to the park tool blog talking about a "shimano pressfit" standard which doesn't have a real name and can also be called BB86/BB90 or BB92.
What should I expect from a "pressfit" bottom bracket shell ? Are "pressfit 30" and "pressfit" the same system ?
Another google search "pressfit bottom bracket" lead me to these bottom brackets options:
-SRAM Bottom Bracket BB30 Pressfit 30
-SRAM Press Fit GXP BB
-Truvativ GXP Team Adapter Cups Bb86 Press Fit Road
-FSA BB86/92 Bottom Brackets 230-6010
-Shimano SM-BB71 Press Fit Road Bottom Bracket with Inner Cover
-Shimano Bottom Bracket Cups Press Fit 7800/7803 | Pair Lh & -
-Shimano Bottom Bracket Cups Press Fit 7800/7803
I'm a bit confused but my conclusions is this :
-sram pressfit 30 and shimano pressfit are different standards.
-the frame I'm looking at (cube agree pro) is using the shimano pressfit standard
-I can't use a BB30 crank with this
-If I want to use a shimano crank I need a shimano pressfit BB like the SM-BB71 above.
-If I want to use a Sram crank I need to choose a GXP crank and buy a BB86 to GXP BB adapter similar to the truvativ one (avoiding the sram press fit gxp bb). Same thing for FSA with a pressfit/BB86 to megaexo adapter or campy with a Power or Ultra-Torque OS Fit pressfit adapter.
Am I right ?
