    Question Replacing SRAM Rival Shifters w/ SRAM FORCE on 2011 Bike

    My Right SRAM double tap Rival paddle snapped off. Planning to replace both shifters with SRAM Force shifters but leave all other components the same. Is there any compatibility issues I need to be aware of? Do I need to pay attention to what year/model SRAM Force shifters I buy?

    Current set up on my circa 2011 Argon 18 Krypton is:

    Shifters/Brakes/FD/RD/10-speed = SRAM Rival

    Crankset = Shimano 105

    Any SRAM 10 speed shifter set is fine. Doesn't matter which model.

    As stated above. Stay away from the Force 22s.

    You're not saying Rival 22 and Red 22 would be ok, are you?

    No. Telling the OP to not get them as they are for 11 speed.

    When my Rival shifter broke, I went with 10s Campy Veloce shifter. I consider that an upgrade

    Better advice would've been to say "Don't get any of the 'XXXX22' shifters as they're 11 speed"...

    Ha! Yep... 'cause my first thought was "$*@&. I just bought Force 22 shifters. What's wrong with Force shifters?" ;-)

    But good heads-up on the 11-speed.

    Yeah, I see how that could be taken the wrong way.

    Funny, I just bought a pair of rival 10 speed shifters off the flea bay and the right shifter paddle fell off in my hand as I tuned them. Same failure point exactly.

    You can buy replacement parts for like $50 if you choose... but I chose to go with Force Carbon 10 speed shifters... which work fine.
