Just ordered two of these and got thinking about the seam on the cover. I read about one person who said that the seam destroyed his bibs. Anybody else have any problems with their bibs?
Going for a fit on Friday and if this saddle destroys bibs I do not want to put it on my bikes.
Had a San Marco Regal (not Regale) and never had any problems with it. Not sure what you mean by "seam on the cover." Most people who have lycra wear problems with these classic skirted saddles have them because the inside of their larger-than-normal thighs rub against the edge of the skirt. Edge skiving doesn't help much.
No, edge of the skirt (the part with the logo imprint). Modern minimalist racing saddles don't have a skirt. When you sit on one of those Regals, the edge of the skirt flares out a bit. If you have large thighs, the edge at the arrow contacts your shorts.
Have had no issues with mine, great saddle. Prior I rode on Rolls' for years and years, I found the Regal-e to be every bit as well made. After almost 8k miles, it still looks like new.
