Selle Italie SLR Kit Carbonio, opinions?

I'm talking about the the model without the cutout. I recently upgraded the stock Bontrager on my 2008 Trek 2,1 and find the SLR Kit Carbonio to be a little harder plus the part in the back that flares out seems to rub me more. I've read that some people believe that this saddle requires a break in period. Is that true? I don't have a big behind or wide sit bones, which some say the SLR is not good for.
