Speedplay Track Special / Zero Stainless

The Speedplay website states that the Zero Track Special is identical to the Zero Stainless, except that it has a higher release tension. So does the higher release tension come from a design difference in the pedal? or just a stronger retaining wire in the cleat? (or both?)

If it's just the cleat, then I could purchase a replacement pair of Track cleats and use my Zero Stainless on my track bike, right?

I've emailed Speedplay, but the site claims it'll take over a week to respond.

    Anybody know?

PROBLEM SOLVED. Competitive Cyclist had the answer on their website. The two models of pedal share the same cleat... they engineered a higher release tension into the pedal itself. Which is good news for those of us who don't want to change shoes or cleats on track day.
