    SwissStop BHP Blue brake pads

Just a quick plug for the new SwissStop BHP Blue Flash Pro brake pads. I've been on them for a couple of weeks and they are the best pads on alloy rims I have ever used. I have been a loyal KoolStop guy over the years, but I will admit these pads are better. Not much use in the wet (yet) but when I did use them they felt as good as KS salmon. In the dry, they are superb.

Funny, I'm just about to pull them off and ebay 'em. They work great on my Tektro cantis, wet or dry, in fact wet performance seems nearly the same as dry. In wet weather though they howl like banshees (front and rear) and despite lots of toe-in, light sanding of the pads and rims, cleaning with alcohol etc etc I can't quiet them down. Actually, not just wet weather, but rather the slightest bit of moisture on the rims is enough to get the noise going.

Yeah! Same here. Too noisy! Went back to Swiss yellow for my aluminum rim.

Last night I swapped in the stock Tektro pads. Braking performance is definitely reduced compared to the Swissstop Blue and I have to squeeze the lever noticeably harder. But they're squeal-free except under really hard braking. I plan on going back to Kool Stop.
