    What size cables?

Hi, I am going to do overhauls on my treks and need to know how long a rear derailleur cable I need. One is a trek madone 6.2, 62cm and the other is a trek 2.3, 64cm. I was told I needed a extra long rear cable because of the bike sizes but the longest Shimano I can find is 2000mm in the kits. Will that work or will I have to go to a gore extra long? Does Shimano make extra long dura ace cables? Any other suggestions on brands? I'm open to change.

    Thanks.

    Millman.

2000mm is roughly 6 feet, wheelbase is about 3 feet. Off hand, looking good.
Just measure along the housing with a piece of string or something to get a ballpark figure.

2000mm cables fit most everything except tandems. You'll be fine with them.
Trying to cram the rest of my life into the rest of my life!
