Will the 6800 launch cause a drop in 6700 prices... soon?

I've been causally shopping for 6700 shifters for a while... waiting for the price to drop... hasn't happened. Should we expect a drop in 6700 prices with the launch of 6800? Before? After? Ever?

I don't know about components, but bikes with 10 speed Ultegra have definitely gotten cheaper. For example Nashbar has an Ultegra level bike (crank is FSA) for $935.99 after their current 22% off coupon:

I did just see 6700 shifters today for $314 at Nashbar - probably the only site I hadn't been watching. Thanks for that reminder. Performance has them for $400... still. $314 is tempting... but since I've waited this long, I'm going if the 6800 launch drives the price down more.

    Thanks DrSmile. (dentist?)

Not sure if you need only new in the box, but eBay is loaded up with new take-offs for around $200 for the pair. This is the route I went and couldn't be happier, love the under tape routing and very pleased with the shifting, I have not experienced any of the slow shifting I have read about, installed mine with good quality cables from Jagwire and routed them around the back of the bars.

I've bid on a bunch of the new(ish) take-offs - all of them went for more than $270. You did well at $200!

    Question

I just got a set from Ribble and shippine and everything was $316 and some change. I looked at Nashbar but it would have ben like 370 with shipping and tax so I passed. Not as good as the $200 above but Best on Ebay at the time was similar to Nashbar. The ebay sets for $200 are auction and will most likely shoot up as auction ends. There was a set buy it now for $277 but still amazes me that people are trying to get over $400 for them. I really like mine and If I could have would have waited the 6800 out. Maybe the new F4 will have 6800 on it.

Can the 6700 levers be used with 6600 derailleurs and brakes?

FWIW, 6770 bikes took a nose dive last month when 6800 was announced. You can buy (if you can still find one) a Ui2 full carbon bike from a few different brands for what you would have paid for a Ui2 group last year.

Merlin is a great place with prices to beat. I got a set of hydro brakes/rotors for my mtn bike for probably $150-200 less than I could have got them in the US.

Well, I bought a set of take-off 6700 triple shifters for $209 on eBay, I run a double but could care less if the left shifter is a triple, just has 2 more clicks which I adjusted out with the limit screws on the FD. (the 7700 set these replaced where sold as double/triple anyway...) I was very patient when I bought mine but I found them with Buy It Now. I even bought a cover for the left shifter that does not say triple on it.
