A '99 VooDoo Wazoo, with 8sp XT derailleurs and 105 brifters, RaceFace cranks and Paul's Neo Retro/Touring cantis. Oh, wait a minute--I've already got that, except for the brakes...
prob. something along the lines of:
FSA Carbon Pro Cranks
DA 9speed
paul neo-retro's
cane creek cyclocross wheels
whatever saddle feels nice
now, the frame is another question - all I want is 130mm spacing, NO disc tabs, and NO waterbottle brazeons. (and a geometry that fits)
maybe the new salsa, empella, fort, ???
right now running the FSA carbon pros (34 46) with ultegra 9/105 rder, on an old cannondale touring frame, avid ti brakes, specialized saddle, racing on fsa rd-600 wheels.
can't wait until I can buy a new frame (if I can find one that I like)

How are the RD-600s? Stiff? I've been eyeballing them for a while, but at 210lbs fully dressed. I'm leery of going under 20 spokes on the front wheel. I run easton vistas with no problems now.
They seem pretty stiff, but I only had two rides with them with the road tires on - put the 'crossers on and all wheels seem pretty similar to me.
I'd been looking at them for a while, and got a deal on mine. They seem to be holding up ok, and i'm no lightweight either (190ish). One of the spokes loosened quite a bit, not sure whether it was from riding or from bumping it carrying them into the house on the bike. Either way, tightening the spoke was a PITA (tire and tube off, rim strip off, true, rim strip back on, tire and tube back on) - hidden nipples look nice, but that's about it. Thinking that if I break a spoke, I'll rebuild them with some beefy 14/15's rather than the wispy bladed things on there now.
we'll see how they fare in an actual race - I'm not sure i'd buy them again, definitely not at full price.
Something lugged and pretty here too. Or fillet brazed. A Hunter comes to mind. I had a Mtb from him that I liked alot. Any name would do frankly. And two of them please. Dressed in plain jane Centaur or Rival. No need for super bling here. NO carbon bits either. Ti sure, but Carbon? Nope. Not here. Oh, and nothing but silver parts. No black. No blue. No red. Just silver please.
Easton Scandium Rock Lobster frame- Every tube on this thing is Scandium except the seat stays, which they only make in Ultralite AL. It's color is sea-foam green, which looks like it should glow in the dark. It was built for me, and it's perfect.
Easton EC-90x fork
Easton EC-90 Equipe pro bars, EA-70 stem, EC-70 seatpost.
Dura-ace 7800 shifters, cassette, chain, crank and BB.
Chris King headset, black.
Paul Components brakes, touring and neo-retro, GOLD!
Fizik Airione saddle.
Crank Brothers 3-ti Eggbeater pedals.
Mavic Ksyrium tubular wheels, with Dugast Rhino 34s. I've had all the chi-chi carbon wheels, and I'm over it. Those things only end in tears, and part of my dream bike involves not rebuilding a half dozen wheels each season.
This is a description of my "A" bike, the other one is the same but with Ultegra shifters and cranks.
What I need is some dream legs to go along with the bikes...
probably Vanilla, with that classic look, singlespeed.
and an aluminum more modern racey bike, geared, like that RL wunlap mentioned.
and a Desalvo ti.
