2 yrs ago I bought a Specialized Tricross as a gateway into road riding. Since then, my passion for riding exploded and I bought a Cervelo S1 Ultegra for the road and I ride the Tricross on the extensive trail network where I live - which I equally enjoy doing as road riding.
I bought the tricross not knowing anything about bikes. The only fit I received was a quick stand over in the LBS where I bought it. Its Shimano 2300 8 speed/triple and the frame is a 58 (I'm 6'0, my Cervelo is a 56).
The drawbacks I'm starting to see with the bike (it works perfect mechanically)
- the frame might be slightly too large for me - especially compared to my Cervelo (which I had a professional fit)
- the 8 spd triple HAS to go
- the bike weighs quite a bit, probably in the neighbourhood of 23-25 lbs
One bike that's caught my eye is the Felt F75x (105 compact). Anyone have experience with this bike? I figured I may enjoy my trail riding a lot more with a better equipped bike, and one that didn't feel like a tank.
Thoughts on the Felt?
