Help- FSA RD 800 for cross

Done with clinchers, going to take the leap to tubular.

Can get a deal on a set of FSA RD 800s. Anyone know anything about these wheels. I know Kona raced on them at some point, but haven't been able to find ay other info.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

My team mate raced on a pair all last season & had good luck. I warned him before he got them that if they ever needed trueing he'd have to remove the tire (hidden nipples). He never needed to & he's a verly aggressive rider.

While no direct experience with the 800's, I have/had a set of RD-600's that I raced CX on - same basic wheel, just a 30mm alloy rim rather than ??mm carbon. They worked OK for me - had to true them several times, but that was more due to the fact that I was ~200 lbs racing in a very non-graceful manner on (somewhat) lightweight wheels. I think the 800's will actually be better - the carbon rim won't deform so easily (it simply cracks rather than bending...).

    good luck!
I love the sound of cowbell in the morning.
