    Hillbilly Hustle ECCC (NJ)

    Anyone familiar with this race?

I'm thinking it will be my first race in years, and considering my lack of conditioning I'd like to know what the course is like.

I'll be racing C-class, MTB with skinnies.

I hear it's a great time. You can get a it of an idea of what the course is like by going through some past Flickr photos: http://www.flickr.com/search/?w=all&...+hustle&m=text

    Its tough and muddy ...

I was there last year and it was my first cross race. Its technical with some tough uphills but what made it really tough was a very long mud section. If it rains the week before, its going to be ugly.

I think there are two Hillbilly Hustle races. The one in NJ doesn't have a big run up like the Flickr Pics. The NJ race has a lot of twisty/sandy single track thru the woods. Lots of thick grass & not many places to pass.
Your MTB will serve you well. Good Luck.

Yeah, I'm headed to the one in NJ this weekend. From what I've been told, course is flat and fast. A dirt mound or two but no serious hills.

Here are some pictures from last year. Just ignore the one of the guy who no longer has a seatpost.

Flat and fast sounds good. I might be able to handle that. I haven't done any training but I've felt pretty good on my short 1hr, high intensity rides lately.

The best way to The Hill Billy Hustle in ontario?

    Hey,

I am thinking of attending this race. So I was wondering the best route to take to the course.

Up Hwy #10 or up the 400 and across?

Any Southern Ontario riders have suggestions?

Wrong race. Further up in the thread you'll see that some us were talking about the Canadian race and others the NJ. I'll rename the thread.

I'd take Hwy 10 through Orangeville and then up 24/124.
