    Lemond Propad Sizing?????

I have a Lemond Victoire road frame with sloping top tube. Size is a 53. (this is the same frame as the Zurich by with Ti instead of steel).

I want to build up a Propad as a cross bike, but I am not sure which size to get. It is available in a 52 and a 55. It does not have the sloping top tube geometry.

I have been told that with the Propad's geometry it is adviseable to get one size up from what you normally ride which would be the 55 for me (the sizing skips from 52 to 55 and is not available in a 54).

What do you think? Which would be more appropriate?

My concern with the smaller frame would be that the top tube may be too short.

    thanks for your help

Then you use a longer stem.... I would go smaller as long as you can get into the front triangle for shouldering of the bike.....

    I'm 5'10" with 33" inseam and have a 55 poprad. I wish it were a 54.

    get the 52

the poprad has a higher BB than your road frame, so I suspect you wouldn't even be able to stand over the 55

    I'm 5'11" with a 34" cycling inseam and the 55cm fits me perfect with a 100mm stem.

    Go with the 52cm.

    BB Drop

The Poprad has 74mm of BB drop, making it among the lowest of all cross frames made.

I tend to buy a frame with a top tube that lets me run a stem length no longer than 12cm,to help reduce the endo factor.
