Omg... I can't pedal my bike.

So I just built my cross rig, and I took it out today to do final adjustments and fit.

Riding in the parking lot with my Mud2's on my Cosmos... my bike felt IMPOSSIBLE to pedal.

I realize that this is my 4th day commuting back from work (26 mi. round trip) but considering I'm running 46/38 with 11/28... even in the lowest gear I find it hard to pedal. God... I'm gonna get dropped so bad in my first race in October in 4's.

I mean I can mountain bike XC and it never really felt that hard. If this is how 29er's feel... I have no idea how people do it.

Are the hubs adjusted properley? are your brakes rubbing? what about your BB? Other than that I can't think of anything that would make it that hard to pedal with a compact crank and a fairly large cassette.

You might just really suck but I doubt it.

Everything looks great. No brake rub or squealing. Hubs are smooth as butter as they came off one of my road bikes (I don't have a dedicated set for this bike yet) formerly with Pro3's.

I'm guessing my legs suck, and/or the Mud2's are so heavy compared to what I'm used to I just can't push the gears.

The bike is in the stickied pic thread.

38/28 ought to be plenty low for an experienced rider on roads.

For once, I think there may be something else going on. Brake setup maybe?

    I guess I'm just echoing #2...

I run a pretty similar combination. If you put it on the stand will it run smoothly?

The mud2's are only like 330 grams or so? I ran Hutchies last year they were in the 400's.

    Yup.

I mean my legs are sore from all the commuting I do... but usually that doesn't affect my recreational riding (road and mtb usually as cx is new to me).

I was riding the bike at 60 psi on tarmac. It's essentially flat. I can usually hammer my roadie pretty good on the road. I mean I'm no Thor, but... really... I didn't think I was THAT out of shape.

I will tell my legs to HTFU, I will report on whether this has worked in a future poast.
