    Top Mount Brake Levers

Are top mount brake levers good or bad? I don't see a lot of guys running them.

I put them on my commuter last week and I find they are often "in the way"

I will surely end removing them.

I like them, but I spend more time on the bartops than most. They're nice for steep descents or dropoffs where you want to get your weight back. A lot of guys spend 95% or more of their time on the hoods, for them the sissy levers wouldn't be of much use.

If you want to split the difference, just use one for the rear. I've seen guys do that for Paris-Roubaix, I think they do it so they can scrub speed on the pave sections.
