2006 Tour De France Winner: Periero (Landis suspended officially)

Just read that Landis has failed to convince anyone he is innocent. Guess it'll be a matter of time before he is stripped by the ASO (officially).

Apparantly he can appeal, and I suspect he will instead of quietly going away.

    Cycling sites lagging!

What's up with Velonews and Cyclingnews.com? ESPN reported this 30 mins ago and still no report on these sites! Nice that the mainstream media is right on top of things when it's doping news!.

I suspect when Velonews and CyclingNews report about it they will actually have something to say.

    review 2006 predictions...

just like in 2007, i think that when the 2006 tdf was done, i reviewed the rbr predictions for 2006 tdf, and noted who on rbr had predicted the best. maybe i need to go review that and see who picked periero.

His ruling was 2-1. So he did convince at least one person

that one person was his selection-he was more or less in the bag. the 2 sides each picked one arbitrator and those 2 arbitrators agreed on the 3rd. it was nearly guaranteed to be 2-1.

Landis defense was BS. And today he says they proved he was not guilty yet loses... you didn't prove nothing apart from showing you hire idiots and think we're all idiots too... Good riddance!

"How much longer until there isn't any cycling in the US?"

    Meaning what exactly?
Are you serioulsy implying that the alleged doping will lead to the demise of cycling here in the States? Because if you are...I'm restraining myself to lable your post with many adjectives that are really unflattering.

It would be illogical to think that even if a handful of riders that were so-called found guilty, it would be the ruin of the sport. Hello...McFly...Sponsors come and go, if there is an opportunity to make money, believe me, there are companies willing to ante up. The majority of fans are going to stop watching and attending events? Highly doubtful.

Baseball. Football. T&F. Alleged rampant doping...and yet still really really popular sports. To all the whiners...stop being so dramatic, like a 15 year old school girl.

Like Cramer say's, make your mad money off of all the vices, and
questionable entities, a good investor doesn't take the moral high ground
when it comes to ringing the register. Take your profits and go support
whatever cause you deem to be worthy. Phhht.

It is what it is, who really cares at the end of the day? You have your own lives
to live, bills to pay, jobs to work, families to take care of, kids to raise -
(if you are relying on others to set an example or be role models...you are
in serious crap anyway moe) Just shut up and go ride your bikes...

If it makes you feel good that you can ride, race or compete without possibly taking something for a little boost, then great, good for you. When push
comes to shove the majority of the world really doesn't care, there are far
more important issues at stake. I know that might piss some people off...
but that sir is the reality. And yes, the ruling was total BS.
