Believable power numbers from Amgen Tour???

This may be the fist time I've seem posted power numbers that were fairly believable from a Pro race. They are breakdowns of the first two stages from the Tour of California on Velonews.

There are no "Spectacular" efforts and actually seem to be fairly human efforts ... granted the weather played a roll, but at the same time ... they are believable even with the conditions.

They reflect the toll of the heat more than anything else. I've seen some files from guys who were within about a minute of the winner on stage 2 - the final climb was relatively slow due to the extreme heat. The VAM was about 1200. By comparison, there's a 60+ year old amateur racer who has a 20% faster time up the tram climb on a cooler day. Shows how limiting heat is on performance.

I recently had a big jump in temp, 60 on Sunday, 80 on Monday, 100+ on Tuesday. My power on Tues was pure garbage.
