I miss my old Specialized Tricross Singlecross (Single speed cyclocross bike)
I'm looking to get a new one built or bought for under $1000, preferably around 800.
What i'm looking for is a flip flop hub, not too aggressive geo, and decent paint job. I'm open to alu/carabon. I'll probably ride this bike to run quick errands around the neighborhood when i dont wanna break out the road bike.
So far, my best option is the Specialized Langster for $1600 =\
There are some dealers who dump cheap no name steel or aluminum frame SS's on eBay with cheap no name components for much less than you have planned. If you are on a real budget and are not brand conscious, it's a thought. I went this route but swapped headset, brakes, saddle, and handlebar with stuff in my shop. Happy with the result. Not a race bike by any conceivable stretch. Plenty of aluminum and steel frame only deals as well, not to mention Chinese carbon
nice well rounded (albeit, low end, but cheap $379) package. I was looking to spend around $800, so my budget is nearly double this. Are there other complete bikes I can look at? Is this bike's Cro-Mo steel frame worthy of nicer wheels / components?
I wanted something with at least a Sram Omnium crank
I agree, i wouldn't mind something with regular road geometry or even longer cyclocross gro. I'm looking to replace my Singlecross
