I blame the hipsters. $*@#ers ruined IPAs, beards... now fixies and single speeds

I gave up on FG a few years ago, when a sh!tload of non.cyclist hipsters started riding them....and poorly, too.

I still really want to build up a nice singlespeed or fixie.

singlespeed just for the lack of stress involved in riding one. and there are less issues with chain tension.

When I first started to give up on FG, it was mostly because of the 'roid-user @$$hats that were common in the local 'FG community'. Today, it's mostly 20-somethings with bushy beards, riding with $300 name-brand shoes with no toe clips. Man, do I feel old.....

Well, my old FG bike (which later became a SS bike), is now transitioning back to a derailleur bike. I don't have the legs I used to, so at least for me, it's a good thing.

Farewell, fixed-gear, it was kinda fun while it lasted, but I've just outgrown you. I'm sure you won't have any problems finding somebody younger. I wish you well, but now, goodbye.
