With that said I owned that bike and I have to say it was the bike I hated most in my life. I didn't hate it because it was a bad bike, it just wasn't the right bike for me.
This bike is a single speed or fixed gear bike, not designed for the track, yet it has a bottom bracket height of 11.5 inches. If it was a track bike, this would be fine but as Kona says it is not a track bike. I assumed they have this bottom bracket height if you were riding the bike fixed so you don't get pedal strike.
I am very sensitive to bottom bracket height and for tooling around town this one is too high. It makes the bike hard to get on an off and it makes the bike handle a little different. It was something I just couldn't get use to so I stripped the bike and sold the frame and crank. Because I ride single speed I don't need a bottom bracket that high. I converted a road bike to single speed and this was more my style. I then went out and bought a Masi Speciale Commuter and this bike has a much lower bottom bracket.
If you don't mind a high bottom bracket then the rest of the bike was alright. The crank was a little heavy but the frame was DB Chrome Moly. The Tektro brakes were great and it had ample room for 28C tires with fenders. Having braze ons for the fenders was a nice touch.
Of the three bikes you mentioned, the Kona seems to be the best deal.
$300 for a Paddy Wagon is a steal...go for it
