    2007 FELT z80...is it worth $450?

Hi All - New to the forum. Great info on here!

I'm looking to pick up a new bike and don't mind going to "used" route. I currently ride a Walmart special so anything is an upgrade! I've been riding for about 2 1/2 months now and am totally hooked. But I want a better bike.

I just noticed on craigslist that someone is selling a 2007 FELT z80 for $450. The guy bought it off someone who barely rode it and then he has only put on about 300 miles on it. So it's has very low mileage. Looks clean and in very good shape.

Do you think $450 is a good price for this bike? Let me know what you think. Thanks! Here are the specs on the bike:

As long as the frame is in good shape and it fits you it seems to be a reasobalble price. What did this bike retail for brand new?

The 2009 version was roughly $1000 so maybe a bit cheaper in 2007. Thanks for the reply!

You couldn't touch that bike here for that much, so I'd say its a good deal. That frame with Sora would cost around $550.

i had a 2008 felt z90 (tiagra/sora mix), and I liked it a lot and got a couple of good years out of it before recently selling it to my brother for 400...i dumped 150 bucks into it before i sold it to him for a new chain, rear tire, and a tuneup...

you might be able to get another 50 bucks or so knocked off that price if it needs tires or tuneup

It could be $50-$75 over priced (MAYBE, MAYBE NOT), but that's hard to say - only the local alternatives can tell you that and if you've been looking a bit, you know for yourself. If you like the looks of the bike and it fits, buy it and ride the snot out of it.

On the other hand, I always try to knock $50+ off the price. But don't walk away just to try to save $50 if it's what you've been lookign for and you like the looks of it.

Be sure to check the tires because if it really only has a few hundred miles on it, they should have plenty of life left, and you can be comfortable that it's being represented honestly. If it obviously needs tires, expect to pay $50 for a pair of good tires.
