I agree. Words matter. Referring to this crime as a "tragedy" or an "accident" reduces the responsibility of the driver. We need to start understanding the seriousness the responsibility of driving requires. Cops and laws being overly forgiving to drivers feed that fire. We should expect more of people who are piloting several tons of steel.

Pickett was sentenced to 40 years. He won't be eligible for parole until he's 90.

I live in southeast Virginia and I've noticed the same thing! None out of 10 as*hat yelling incidents are after work rides. I'm often amazed that my Saturday or Sunday rides are almost entirely event free.

I noticed that decades ago. On the ride into work rarely was I hassled but after work? Jerks everywhere. That is a sad statement on the mindset of American workers.

May be? I would say certainly is a large contributor, though part of it is the entitled attitude of drivers in this country. "It is my road and everyone needs to get out of my way!"
Life is short... enjoy the ride.

If all States told lobbyist for the telecom industries to piss off we'd be the better for it. Make penalties for texting the same as drunk driving.

In full agreement here. Driving while texting should be an automatic loss of license just like DUI.
Life is short... enjoy the ride.
