Almost ready to pull the trigger on a Cervelo P3 track frame

The frames look unbelievable. They have a good pedigree and I am looking for another carbon track frame.

    The price is right too.

Big question is existing parts capability.

It is a little tough finding good in depth info on the Cervelo other than the pseudo advertising and sparse user reviews.

    1. am I going to need to have my rear wheel re-built to accommodate a longer axle?
    2. is my existing FSA 170mm crankset going to be compatible?

These are the only questions I have but the answers will determine the outlay of an additional 200-400 bucks at least on top of the price of the frame.

I also cant find weight of the frame anywhere - I want to compare it to the Jamis I am riding now.

unless something is 'non-standard' about your rear wheel, i can't see any need to rebuild it or even install a new axle. why would you need to rebuild it?a rebuild generally refers to rim/spoke/hub related work, by the way. are you thinking the dropouts are so much thicker that your axle won't be long enough? i'm pretty sure you can run just about any track crank on that frame that you would want to.

Are you sure that they make a P3 in a track model?? I thought that the P3 was a road TT bike, and that the only "Track" frames that they made were the T1 and T3.
If your opinion differs from mine, ..........Too bad.

Buying parts to hang on your bike is always easier than getting fit.

it only became the 'T3' in 2010, before that it was the 'P3Track' for years, and that frame in the photo is pretty obviously a track frame.

Looks like a track frame - no cable mounting locations, no brake mounts.

we can't see the brake mounting holes (if there are any) from this view, and cervelo runs their rr brake cable through the left side of the top tube so that isn't visible either. the only things we can actually see are the lack of der hanger, frt der braze on mount and no rr derailleur housing stop. and as you know, that makes this a P3Track
