More like a unicycle with a training wheel.

I'd rock some of those tri-spoke wheels on my MTB.
I lost my phone number. Can I have yours?

    Earlier prototypes

    Chainless bike-pennyfarthing-1886.jpg
State of the art in 1880. If someone had figured out how to incorporate gearing into the hub, so they could go faster without making the wheel bigger and bigger, we might never have had the "safety bicycle" and its messy chain. And we'd all still be pedaling the front wheel like the Olivier Brothers intended.
    We are far from pefect,
    But perfect as we are
We are bruised, we are broken,
But we are goddamn works of art

Quick! Patent that idea and get a gofundme site up and running before the other chainless bike guy finds out.

    That idea has legs.

And they don't even have to be very long legs ;-)

I'd be willing to bet that the idea was patented well before the turn of the (20th) century.

And the way Oliver O. Oliver still recommends.

    1887, in the USA.

I don't know much about patents, but I'm impressed this was still being cited 120 years later.

Maybe it is just me, but it looks REALLY uncomfortable. Perhaps the lousy fit has something to do with it. In watching the first part of the video I noticed that every one of the riders weaves back and forth while riding. Perhaps an issue caused by design?

The weaving motion is produced by involuntary movement of the body as it tries to mitigate damage to the rider's crotch, knees, ankles, hips, neck and lower back.
