Electronic shifting harnesses & Ritchey Breakaway
I travel with my breakaway frequently & was wondering if the wiring harnesses for electronic shifting (ultegra or athena) could incorporate quick disconnect cables that will work with the frame junctions on my breakaway? Electronic shifting would be appealing since the mechanical linkages/cables always seem to need some adjustment after rattling around during transport. It would be nice & much faster to "plug & play" some cable connectors instead. Assembly/packing time is an issue as I'm rarely in one spot for more than one night. Thanks

Seems like rather weak justification for ES. After assembly all it takes is a few clicks on the shifter cables to get things dialed...maybe 15-30 seconds of effort.
... 'cuz that's how I roll.

EPS requires a special tool to disconnect cables. Don't have it so I don't know how easy or hard it is to use.

Thanks for pumping up your chest & letting us know you can adjust your bike in 15 seconds. Great. If you refer to the original post I was asking about putting disconnects on the cables, not wether or not i should get ES. I unpack/pack my breakaway multiple times per week & am more than familiar with what is involved to make it tick. Not having to tweak the shifting each time would be worth it to me.

The people who critique electric shifting don't have it yet. So they know nothing and should keep quiet.
No one makes quick disconnects yet, but they will in time.

No, not pumping my chest or adjusting a bike in 15 seconds. When assembling a folding bike with cable disconnects, most often no adjustment at all is needed, and if it is, it's just a couple of clicks of the RD or FD cable tension, which can be accomplished while riding with in-line or frame-stop adjusters.
People who don't like/want/need electronic shifting aren't going to have it unless they got it for free. Those who like/want/need it will either have it or covet it. If you have it, hopefully you are the latter, or got it for free.
