I just bought myself my first pair of summer gel gloves, Pearl Izumi Gel-Lite Tour gloves. Should I expect the gel to last longer than the foam in a pair of foam summer gloves? Better dampening?
It's a matter of personal preference. I like the gels. I've had Pearls before. They were all right, but they didn't last at all. At around 4-5K, I was going through 2 pair per season. The gloves I like the best ore Spencos, but they're quite spendy. I have Performance gels. The pair I'm wearing is 3 years old & there are no signs of wear. Really! I might have to wear the things for the rest of my riding career.
I had a pair of Performance gel gloves. They were pretty flat after 6 months. Some foam gloves have lasted me up to 1 year. Probably varies a lot by model and brand.
I order from Performance all the time. This pair of Pearl Izumi Gel Lite Tour gloves are from Performance. The reason I chose them is Performance Tech Support recommended these as their best gel glove, even over their own Performance brand.
