As God As My Witness, I Thought Turkeys Coud Fly

... just some pics from our Cincy ride.

We did the northeastern burbs before heading south across the Ohio and then our return.

Nice Report. You have to be a little "seasoned" to get the reference. I'll be thinking of you every once in a while.

BTW: do you want this over on C/T and Ride Reports?

It's a reference to an episode of an old TV show, "WKRP in Cinncinati"
"Why don't these people grow up, bicycles are for children, & trained animals. Get off the roads, and you won't get run over. These freaks with their space clothes speeding down the streets hit people all the time. I won't drive in your bike lane, you stay the hell off the road." Mervin Bell of Galloway, OH.

Yep. Always had a thing for Bailey. That girl next door with suppressed cravings thing. Great show.
It ain't rocket surgery. Buy everything on sale, pedal when you have too, coast when you can, and get home in one piece. Keep going forward - there is no reverse.

    Nothing wrong with that.

Nice reminder - my dad and I still laugh about it.

"they're hitting the pavement like wet bags of cement." - Less live at the scene if my memory is correct.

I had one of these moments last week. I do some advocacy volunteering in my town. The city is in the very beginnings of LAB bicycle friendly city application. In order to "discover" our strenghts and weaknesses I spent the day riding around town with a city staffer and a staff member from the Minnesota Bicycle Alliance (both probably "a little" younger than yours truely). We get over by a major commercial area and I "remind" them that this is the old International Headquarters for Control Data Corp. (for those a little younger than me, here's the Wikipedia: Control Data Corporation - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia).

Both my ride mates....."Control Data, what's that?"

Reminded me that I'm "seasoning" every day.

... not to my knowledge... we spent some time riding through an area called Indian Hills before heading south into town... but we've been promised a more "challenging" route next time...

... course, I done it on a 39/21 whereas some of my compatriots were using 28s and even a couple of triples... << da de dah de dahhhh >>
