    Handlebar map/bag

For a forthcoming cycling trip with my wife to France, (Loire a velo),
I am looking for recommendation on Handlebar bag with map insert.
I think that the bag need to be pretty small (shallow) and the map pocket should allow comfortable reading angle.
Any other recommendations for this 6 days easy touring trip will be appreciated.

    I've got one of these.

VO Campagne Handlebar Bag - Bags, and Panniers - Accessories

It's pretty awesome. It does require a rack, which could be an issue.

Topeak makes a couple of nice handlebar bags. Several sizes, hard and soft bags They have a bracket that I have yet to find, not fit a bike. The bracket goes on with an Allen key. You can get a locking thingy for the bracket. The bag clips on and off. I can put a phone and a GPS in the map compartment on mine.

Oh, and I look cool carrying my bike purse, just make sure your shoes match. It is after all the fashion capital of the world you are going to.

Ended up getting one set of
Amazon.com: Avenir Excursion QR Handlebar Bag (336 cubic inches of storage): Sports & Outdoors

    and

Amazon.com: Avenir Excursion Large Panniers (1, 700 Cubic Inches total): Sports & Outdoors

    plus

Amazon.com: Pyramid Bicycle Bungie Cargo Net, Black: Sports & Outdoors

If it's good as Amazonians reviewers say, I will get another set for my wife, for a total cost of $200 for 4 pieces.
Those will be our total luggage for the trip so we don't have to pay a service to shuttle our luggage from one city to the other as we advance.
We got one quote for 600 Euro... ($786) :-(
