    Hitch mount bike rack.

I have already built one that towed a trailer and carried up to 4 heavy bikes, just prefacing my question. My family is now mostly done with the heavy bike that I carried all over the place. The rack was designed to carry the bikes by the top tubes in a minimal amount of space. I really didn't care if they were all jammed together. Now all of a sudden I care deeply, heck I don't even want to carry them by the top tube anymore.

I want to build a wheel carry rack, what I really need to know is this: How far apart are the wheel tracks center to center?

    TIA

I suggest you take a couple of the bikes in question, arrange them as you would have them on the rack, and measure the distance between their wheels.
    ... 'cuz that's how I roll.

They vary even within a manufacture. Mine is 10.5" but another rack has 13". I agree with looigi. If it is a trailer then do what Yakima does. They give you two lengths. 66" or 78" and it's up to you to postion the racks wherever you want.
