    I lost 4000 pounds...

Wish I could do that but my truck is paid for, gets good gas mileage, seldom needs repairs or maintenance and comes in handy when I have to haul stuff (like kayaks) or drive on rainy days. I'm bike commuting most days now but the truck is awfully nice on days when it's pouring rain, thunder and lightning, snow, sleet, etc.

Eventually I'll buy something to replace the truck, but for now, I can get by without it. Wife still has her car, as do both daughters.

I suspect I'll be shopping for studded 700C tires come January/February of '13, though.

    Nice! Mad props,my friend!

And hey,you don't have to replace that pickup (bear in mind,we're a 2 vehicle family as I say this...),ever thought of a cargo bike or something lke Xtracycle to convert a seldome/never usedbike you have (or a nice CL-fid used bike)?

While I didn't sell the Mercky (Villager minivan -which replaced a modded Mustang GT ragtop...),I recently (this week actually, got it finished) put together an Xtra on an old TREK mtn bike I'd had well over a decade,I have no desre to drive now,at least in nice weather

Yea, I'm doing a fifth of what I usually do in a year in terms of mileage on my truck. Cycling and walking certainly is a big part of that. Not to mention I fell better too.
