Mountain Bike Review.....the proper forum since this is a ROAD bike forum

This site has some good tips
    Home - mtbtips.com

Real tips? Find better riders who have the patience to ride with you. Work your way up on difficulty of the trails and obstacles.... this takes time... you will crash here and there.

Clipless pedals? Yes, get clipless pedals.

When you climb... weight distribution is very important, as you need to balance traction on both wheels, and then when you add obstacles, makes it even more challenging.

So it's wrong to ask about mountain biking on a biking forum in the General Cycling section?

Yes, especially when it ROADBIKEREVIEW and there is a sister site named MOUNTAINBIKEREVIEW.

I don't think he said it was wrong. Just not very effective.
While there are some MTB'ers here, the majority are road riders. I do believe over on MTBR.com everyone is a MTB'er, thus you'd get better MTB related input.

I didn't know about the sister site. I'll bet the OP didn't either. But at least you kindly pointed that out to him/her in your initial post.

I get it. It was still a dbag response. But whatever, reminds me of the response from some drivers telling me that I don't belong on the road and should stick to the MUPs.

Yes, I took the opportunity to be a smart aleck, even included the proper smiley. I am very sorry, and won't do it again. However if someone is that new to the internet and searching, local community classes offer courses periodically.
    (no smiley this time)

It was the OP's first post, how do you think he got here? Do you think he searched for biking forums or just typed roadbikereview.com and hoped for the best mountain biking tips?

I think he googled biking forums and chose the first or second hit. But whatever bud, carry on.

Didn't actually help. I posted a thread about stamp collecting over there & got mocked.

All's well that ends well. My grandfather told me a story once. It went something like this: "a man stuck his fingers in a mule's mouth to see how many teeth the mule had. The mule bit down on the man's hands to see how many fingers the man had. Thus both the curiosity of the man and mule were satisfied".

I don't know how that fits in here, but I just wanted to use it somewhere while I was thinking of it.

Those are much safer than Crocs, i heard if you wear those and try to go up an escalator you'll get stuck and die.

What? If you don't crash, you're not riding hard enough!

Did anyone else notice that the OP's screen name almost looks like "adumbass"?
