This Just Burns Me Up - wasted tire

Tire is less than 3 months old.

I thought it was cut at first but looking at the separation I am seeing it is most likely defective.

Couldnt let the dollar bill hold it together much longer, swapped tires for new one this morning.

Hard to see on a cell phone but doesn't look like a defect to me.

    I will second Rekless's statement.

Looks worn through, not like a defect.

Agree. Looks like damage from the outside.

Anyway, did you really need to trash it? Hard to tell from that angle, but it doesn't look like it's bulging. If it's not, I'd boot the inside and maybe put some rubber sealant on the outside, and keep riding.
    Eppur si muove.

Did you ride it on the side of a curb?, What pressure are you running? What does the rest of the tire look like?

Definitely looks like the tire was rubbing on something. check you're rear brake alignment or trainer set up of you've been riding indoors.

It looks like a dollar bill is being used as a boot already.

    Not possible.

This is the front wheel from a fixed gear with only a front brake.

    Never been skidded.
