Did a search but did not find anything recent. Is $600 still a good price for a Kestrel 200sci with Campy chorus?
I think that's a bit much...maybe 300-400 if everything is in excellent condition. If the components are all from the same period of the frameset it's all outdated 8 speed stuff (the world has moved onto 11 speed now). I still have one and it's been indestructible.
Thanks for the reply. I am pondering it, but I thought it a bit much as well. I contacted the CL seller to make sure it was available and he said that there was "other interest" in it as well. I think it was a lie to keep me from trying to offer him 400 or so. I still have not decided, but I am leaning on finding a deal on a frame and building it up. Still not sure though.
Anyone else have any thoughts?
Carbon Fiber = Explode!
This series of Kestrels are the vintage "Made in the USA" ones. They don't make them here anymore.
It is a fairly old frame so make sure the carbon isn't damaged. Personally, depending on the wear and tear, I don't think 600 is too much to ask if it's in really good condition.

1 hour of running = 1 hour of wasted time when you could have been riding. - Alaska Mike
I sold mine with 9-speed Dura Ace for $800 6-8 years ago. It was one of the Japanese ones. I bought it in 1992. I rode a lot of miles on that bike. $600 is maybe a little high, but not highway robbery for it. What kind of wheels does it have? Have you ridden it? I recall the bike having a nice ride and being relatively stiff.
That's a great deal for the seller. If you buy a frame and build it up, chances are you'll spend more money than buying a complete bike. What kind of riding are you going to do? Where do you ride? What's your realistic budget?

I think he's looking at a complete bike with Campy Chorus components.

I'm not so sure about your argument about building up a frame. I've done it with the last four bikes I've bought. An off the rack bike might be cheaper, but you don't end up with FSA mystery cranks and Tecktro brakes either.
I bought this frame off ebay for $750 and built it up for my wife using Campy Athena. Did the whole project for $2000
