    maximum %grade on Garmin 500

I've been trying to find the max %grade on my Garmin 500 but it doesn't seem to record that. Am I missing something or does this thing record all of these other types of data but not max grade for a particular ride?

There is a beast of a wall in Highland Falls,NY very close to the gate at West Point if any of you guys are in that area. I looked at my Garmin while going up it yesterday and it was registering 31%. I'd like to see that on the ride report.

    Thanks for any help.

If you upload your data to Training Center, it can graph the grade. I don't remember if this came on the CD with the 500, or I downloaded it from the internet.

I download it to Garmin Connect. Is Training Center different?

On the Strava site you can put the cursor on the points of the ride profile and it will show a grade and, man oh man, is it ever wrong. It claims I didn't go over about 7.5% yesterday.

Strava and Garmin TC don't necessarily compute the same data in the same way. Strava always shows different elevation than TC. It also shows different wattage even with a power meter. 230w vs 274w for the same ride. Its frustrating.
I use Strava the most because I love segments and the social network part of it, but I back up my data to TC because it seems the more accurate one.
TC can also "correct" your elevation based on (I think) USGS data.

Plus TC is free and some day I may tire of paying for Strava and I don't want all my stuff to dissapear when it does.

I downloaded Training Center and it does show grade on a chart. It's claiming the hill in Highland Falls, NY is about 23%. It's weird but when you hold the cursor on the chart and move it around it will only show 9% even the chart is over 20%.
