I was watching the recording of it while reading this thread. When I froze the frame, I noticed a bit of difference. The top pulley is much smaller. It was only the bottom pulley that looked similar to the picture posted.

It only comes in blue. If they made red ones, I'd think about it.

You should get it! Geraint Thomas was quoted as saying he attributes his win at the Dauphine to his super spiffy and expensive derailleur cage! All the cool kids will be getting them now.

I like to equip all four of my bikes in similar fashion ... so I guess I'll be buying 4.

Make sure you get red and not blue. Red is always the faster color.

Congrats in advance for dominating all your local routes on Strava 😁

Eh, last time I checked road biking is an expensive hobby - or at least it can be if you want the latest and greatest. This is an expensive piece of gear, but it doesn't strike me as crazy when compared to the rest of the high end road biking world.

Definitely. There's a reason red is at the top of the light spectrum and blue is at the bottom. And why they don't even make a purple one!

You think? Have you looked at the price of high end speaker cables? You know, for the audiophiles. It's tens of thousand$. And just like the above component, the real gain is in the minds and status symbol.

but really, it is not a very expensive hobby, so inventors have to make up some weird shgt like $400 jockey wheels so the enthusies can get their retail therapy ad nauseum.

    expensive hobbies:
    -flying planes
    -yachting
    -race cars
    -high limit tables
    -art collection
    -producing movies
    -private golf memership
    -car collection

I spent roughly $800 on my full 105 roadbike*. $600 for a set of pully wheels is insane.

*I spent the better part of a year scouring parts bins and online clearance sections to build my bike up. The wheelset and bottom bracket were purchased secondhand, but everything else was brand new.
I lost my phone number. Can I have yours?

This would be an interesting thread topic. That is, what bike you ride, how much you paid for it compared to the bikes MSRP. it seems like the one thing we all have in common is trying to get a deal.

nah...it's dirt cheap compared to a lot of other hobbies. once you have the equipment, it's essentially cost-free to go for a ride.

I can't even fill gas cylinders for a single cave dive for less than $75...

Holy fark, you're right! I easily found a pair for $55k, and it's another $21k if you want to go from 2m length to 3m.

Again, someone's dream has come true. And since these are $1,700, they're almost three times better!

Unlike cycling, audio electronics can be compared in double blind test. Those expensive cables were compared to $10 zipcord from Home Depot and found out to make no audible difference in double blind test. Then why are those high end cable companies still in business? Human minds are easily manipulated.

Well whaddya know. I'm watching a replay of Stage 6 of the Dauphine, and here's what I see 1.7km from the finish. The blue ones might have looked a bit flashier.

And he put 21 seconds on Thomas!
