How long has it been since the last time I even posted here? Lets just say it's been so long I couldn't even remember my password. Indeed it's been a long hiatus, and I would like to start posting here again and to start it all off, here is my personal bike.
I posted the pictures on "bikeforums" but wanted to share it with more people here. As some of you well know, I design bicycles for a living. The Prodigy 5.0 is something of a first for me. It is the first carbon rim that I designed and actually own the mold for. Here is what it looks like with the new Destiny frame with BB30. It is 49mm in depth and weight 1380g (clincher) and 1180g (tubular). The rim features a solid foam core design and a UD finish.
The frame weights 1380g in a 58cm and uses a seamless diamond shaped downtube, asymmetrical chainstays, and an ovalised top tube for stiffness. Personally I am very impressed with BB30. The stiffness of the BB system is noticeable, but the more obvious difference is in the Q factor. Whether one believes in the benefits of a narrower Q or not, what I personally experienced is a more fluid pedaling motion. I used to have alot of foot movements at the bottom of my pedal stroke but it has strangely gone with the narrower Q factor.
The bike weights 7.4kg with pedals and the heavy Gossamer cranks. It should be down to 7kg with my racing wheels and Force BB30 cranks. I'm finding the ghosted out graphics really appealing. Let me know what you guys think.
I hope the mods don't think this to be spam, I just wanted to share pics of my own bike here.
