Switching to Strava for route mapping

Been using Ridewithgps but noticed Strava now does turn by turn and seems to be much better at filling in routes between two points based on rider popularity. Only thing missing is *satellite imagery* which would better permit road selection. And Strava lets you know what segments are along the routes you selected which is also useful data in creating new routes.

Any reason to continue using Ridewithgps or some other software?

I've played around with the strava mapping but don't think I've ever actually uploaded a route to my Garmin to try. It seems to work pretty well. I've been using RWGPS so long it's just quicker and easier to use. And it has more features.

Only thing missing are photos which would better permit road selection.
Photos? You mean satellite image? Cause that's available.
RWGPS has street view which is really helpful. Strava doesn't have that.

Click the little gear icon. It's in there.

don't see it. maybe need new glasses. on rwgps you can hover the man over a section of road and see an actual photo of the road from google earth. strava used to have it but removed it months ago.

ah, I was thinking the rwgps way where you just see a few feet of a single road. this is better.
