Topeak Race Rocket Won't Work

I need some advice. I recently got a Race Rocket and I'm having trouble getting it to work. The connector doesn't seem to fit well on the valve causing it to leak as much air as I'm pumping in. Very frustrating.

If anyone has one of these please advise.

No problem with two that I have here and have used a good number of times. In fact they work very well, better than the Lezyne a few other pumps I have.

The brownish grey anodized part must be unscrewed from the silver part to work correctly on presta valves. You screw those two parts together for schrader valves. There's a diagram showing proper configuration inscribed on the grey barrel

Hey, thanks for the reply. I thought that I had tried to screw the hose onto the valve but I tried that again and it worked so all is well.
