Wahoo Kickr Trainer... do I need to switch to a 11sp cassette?

My current Kickr is one of the "older" ones that has the 10spd cassette. Im going to be purchasing a new bike that has 11sp... and Im curious if "I have to" replace it with a 11spd or not?

My thoughts are that with ERG mode... I rarely ever change gears during the trainer ride so my question is if there is a need or not?

Yes. The chain width and indexing is different. You will get excessive chain wear and slipping gears.

Get yourself a lockring removal tool, and chain whip. All and all it takes about 10 minutes.

Also if you plan on usining zwit you will need all the gears.
