    This may be bogus, anyway, but if the report and pictures are legitimate, it wasn't the seatpost that went where it oughtn't, but one of the rails of the broken saddle.

    Not that that would necessarily be a lot better . . .

    Closest thing like this that happened to me was the time I was riding a BMX bike as a kid w/ no seat installed, crashed and slammed my junk on the top tube hard... this is much, much worse
