You will die......
Just clicked over here to RBR and see the big ad from Specialized "You Will Die Before These Tires". In fact it is to the right of my screen as I type.
I've seen this ad in mags before and find it absolutely stupid as all get out! Just stop it!
First, I don't like thinking about "dying" when I'm thinking about cycling.
Second, I had a set of those crappy tires and got plenty of flats. Those tires are dead and gone and I'm still here.
I should sue Specialized for false advertising. Or at least tasteless advertising.
How about if Gatorade had an ad saying " You Might Get Cancer Some Day But It Won't Be From Drinking Gatorade".
Rant over.

TK, you had better watch out, the big Shyzalized might sue YOU for defaming their tires. That's how they roll.
Ordered and Fitted for my Custom DEAN Titanium frame on Sept 17th, 2008. Finally got it in Oct, 2010!!!

I didn't buy their tires, so I would not know. And don't care to findout either.

I wonder what would happen if a dude bought a set of these tires, rolled out of the bike shop and got mowed over by a dump-truck. Then he certainly did die before the tires. Imagine the beating Spec would get if that got publicized!

Not for me. It's probably because you have been shopping for tires and the cookies placed on your computer are tailoring the ads for you. Ya really can't get away from that anymore. Try disabling all cookies and see how much it limits your browsing. It pretty much makes your browsing session unusable

I flatted a Specialized Fast Trak Control two weeks ago. Will I die soon?

Try the Specialized Mondo. Awesome cheap tire.
It won't last forever, but that kind of advertising only works on idiots.

Should we nominate a particularly deserving member? Not saying I know of one, but at least one of us must have spouted off at one time or another enough to deserve recognition. I should probably nominate myself just on general principles (I'm not though)

I plan on living another 50 years or so. So is Specialized trying to tell me if I put a set of those on my bike they will last 50 plus years. Does any tire even last 50 months. What are they trying to say here?
You know what, I'm calling those guys when I get a chance. If they were selling rocks or dirt or Twinkies, ok then, but tires, c'mon.

I think they meant it as in "you are going to bonk" before these tires flat, but it is a poor way of trying to sell long lasting tires.
