Looks like a sweet deal from Competitve Cyclist for an entry-level full carbon frame bicycle with some nicely upgraded components. Wheels are lame, but the Rival component group is nice at this price point.
Here's their description of this bike:
RIDLEY ORION/SRAM RIVAL FULCRUM COMPLETE BIKE
We're well aware that 'value' can be a dirty word in cycling. However, laying waste to the ideology of increasing banality when decreasing cost, is the Ridley Orion/ SRAM Rival Fulcrum Complete Bike. With a carbon fiber construction and a race-ready component group, the Ridley Orion shatters the perceptive mold of 'affordable bikes.'
When Ridley designed the Orion, it adhered to a simple ethos -- mate comfort with speed. Sounds simple enough, but we doubt that you'll be surprised to hear that both of these characteristics fall on polarized ends of the ride-quality spectrum. So, to start, Ridley constructed the frame from 24-ton carbon fiber. Compared to top-tier racing carbons that are as comfortable as a concrete-lathered board, 24t checks off all of the boxes on our list of requirements -- comfort, rigidity, and responsiveness. The carbon layup provides plenty of lateral and torsional stiffness, while still offering vertical compliance on rough mountain roads. While this is due in part to the carbon makeup, Ridley enhanced the Orion's compliance by integrating mono seatstays (wishbone seatstays for us old folk). For a more effective power-transfer from your pedal stroke, the bottom bracket junction uses an oversized design. This means that less energy will dissipate through the frame while you're putting in your final kick to the line.
The Orion's comfort has been further heightened by what Ridley calls its Protour geometry. In layman's terms, this is a way of saying that the Orion has a tall head tube and a shorter top tube. This geometry has become more commonplace in recent years, and it's for good reason. The created position requires less strain on the back to rest on the hoods or drops, and accordingly, this position allows for precise handling and explosive accelerations over long distances.
And being more than just pretty looks, the Orion is also loaded with an incredible component package. The frame rolls on the svelte Fulcrum Racing 7 wheels, cased in the Continental Ultra Race tires. And supplying the power to the wheels is a SRAM Rival crankset, SRAM chain, SRAM PG-1070 cassette, and SRAM Rival front and rear derailleurs. For shifting and braking, Ridley included Rival shift levers and brake calipers.
The Ridley Orion/ SRAM Rival Fulcrum Complete Bike is available in the color Black/red and in four sizes from XX-Small to Medium.
